This presentation will discuss 5 main objectives for the first parent meeting and how play therapists can best prepare.

What People Are Saying
This presentation was originally presented at The Association for Play Therapy Conference (as well as many state branch virtual trainings). Discover how this course has transformed the way play therapists approach parent consultations in play therapy.
Every counselor should hear this information during graduate school. We receive so little training on how to do parent intake well. Dr. Ahou is amazing!!!
Workshop Attendee
Presenter brings a lot of positive energy to some of our most frustrating challenges related to our own biases and assumptions.
Workshop Attendee
"The deep level of reflection that was used in this workshop was amazing. And intense. Ahou's knowledge, compassion and commitment to her work is extremely evident. The feedback that I heard from others in the room was extremely positive. Many therapists were influenced in a positive way to really be thoughtful about conducting effective, culturally sensitive parent intakes. I look forward to going back and using all of the information that I learned in this workshop."
